Safety systems should make work safer. Not just create more paperwork.
A Bit of Safety was created around a simple idea: the best safety systems are clear enough to use and practical enough to keep using.
Less complexity.
More useful work.
We focus on practical systems that work for workers, supervisors and management — from how a hazard is identified in the field to how follow-up is documented back at the office.
Every business operates differently. The right approach begins by understanding yours.
Tara brings hands-on experience managing the day-to-day safety needs of an Alberta construction company. Her work has included safety program maintenance, COR preparation, inspections, incident and near-miss documentation, orientations and training records, safety meetings, preventative-maintenance tracking, monthly reporting and digital safety systems.
A Bit of Safety grew from seeing the same problem repeatedly: small businesses need solid safety systems, but they do not always need — or have the budget for — a full-time safety department. The goal is practical support that helps owners, supervisors and workers keep safety organized without creating paperwork for the sake of paperwork.
Five things we believe in.
Practical
Solutions need to work in the real world.
Clear
Safety requirements should be understandable.
Useful
Forms and procedures should have a purpose.
Collaborative
Good safety programs involve workers and management.
Always improving
Safety systems should evolve as businesses change.
Let's make safety more workable.
